Registering Now For Tech Classes Starting Soon


Two new and exciting tech classes are starting soon! Class descriptions and registration links for both are below.

Power Up Your Classroom Website tech class starts Monday January 23rd. Sign up soon! Space is limited.


Power Up Your Classroom Website is being offered to all GSD elementary teachers who have an existing website, but

want to make it amazing by adding excellent curriculum content. This class will give teachers the opportunity to

explore online resources in each of the core subjects. Each of the sessions will focus on a subject area. Participants

will be shown examples of online rsources. More efficient internet searching will also be taught and class time with the

instructor's help will be provided for working on your classroom website.


  • This course consists of five 3-hour classes taught on Mondays (January 23, 30 and February 6, 13, 27) from 4:30-7:30 PM

  • Location: Jackling Training Lab (3760 S 4610 W West Valley City)

  • The choice of 1 USOE Credit or 15 licensure points will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.

  • Participants must attend all 5 classes of the 15 hour course to earn credit.

Emerging Technologies tech class starts Wednesday February 1st. Sign up soon! Space is limited.


Emerging Technologies is being offered to ALL GSD teachers. In this course, teachers will be introduced to a variety of exciting new technologies

that will help them to meet the needs of the 21st Century learner, without reinventing their current curriculum. We will explore cloud computing,

exciting online assessment tools, Google Tools like Google Earth, Google Maps, and Google Lit Trips, and we will spend some time experimenting with handheld devices

like iPods. The goal of this course is to provide teachers with free emerging technologies that will help them to create a classroom that is more interesting, diverse, and able

to meet the needs of digital learners. If you are looking for a way to move beyond worksheets, paper pencil assessments, and outdated curriculum material, this class is for you!


  • This course consists of five 3-hour classes taught on Wednesdays (Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29) from 4:30-7:30 PM

  • Location: GEC Lab D228 (2500 S. State Street SLC, UT) Enter the building from the NW entrance

  • The choice of 1 USOE Credit or 15 licensure points will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.

  • Participants must attend all 5 classes of the 15 hour course to earn credit.
